Beginning at the End

I've spent the last several hours learning about weblogs. It seems that to a purist, a weblog is a running commentary about the web, a sort of chronicle on the web itself. Nowadays lots of people use weblogs as online journals which are about themselves rather than about the web itself.

When I heard the term weblog, I envisioned a sort of online journal or diary. But after reading a number of them, I can see they are far further reaching. I would personally like to use a weblog to chronicle my journey from a cottage industry to a large corporation. Well, maybe I don't want to wind up being a large corporation, but certainly I'd like my business to grow. And I'd like to chronicle it here because I think we all need to interact and understand the kinds of issues we face as fellow artists and entrepeneurs.

I call this beginning at the end because it is in fact the last day of the Year 2005. And so it seems an appropriate time to begin, a little advance preparation for the New Year which begins in just over three hours, here in San Diego, California.
